Groups & Gatherings

We benefit physically, socially and emotionally when we share stories, memories and experiences, are heard and witnessed, offer a listening ear to others, find ways to properly slow down and rest, move according to the impulses of our body, heart and mind, and engage in creative expression in community with others.

When we gather together with others around a common theme or activity there are opportunities for not only engaging in fun, creativity, learning and insight, but also for discovering more about ourselves and how we relate to other people. Groups also offer hope for a greater sense of belonging, support from others and the feeling of being less alone. In our world that currently seems marked by disconnection, fear and conflict, opportunities for something different - something more wholesome and hopeful - are important for our emotional, social and physical wellbeing.

I run creative, experiential groups and gatherings often held outdoors, in private woodland, in East Sussex. As well as creating groups and gatherings that are focused around topical and relevant themes and activities, I am able to offer workshops that are tailored to the needs of workplace staff teams, hen-dos and women’s groups and community based groups. If you’re interested, do get in touch.

Activities that can be woven together to create unique offerings include:

🍃embodied storywork: the beliefs we and others carry about who we are, and the memories and experiences that determine how we think, feel and act represent the weft and the weave of ‘our unique story’. Working with myths and folk tales allows us to investigate, deepen or even challenge the representations we may hold about ourselves and combining movement, artwork, working with natural materials and reflection can be both powerful and transformational.

🍃relationship with nature: immersing ourselves in the natural world not only allows us to slow down and properly rest, by engaging with our senses and accessing our internal sensations and feelings, we can learn about what moves and motivates us. Intentional ‘being with’ provides opportunities for noticing, making choices and implementing change.

🍃creative expression and reflection: creative activities (movement, artwork, working with out hands) are often introduced into the work as the basis for exploration, and at other times they are used to help participants express and reflect on their thoughts and feelings. Using the right hemisphere of the brain allows us to tap into our intuition - a different kind of knowing that may offer completely new and exciting insights about ourselves.
